Suspension training workout - lower body

Hey everyone,

We were very excited to try our first real workout with the Jungle Gym XT.  For this workout, we chose to focus on lower body exercises, using a circuit-style.  It turned out to be a great workout - we are loving the Jungle Gym XT!

We chose six lower body suspension training exercises and completed three circuits (for 18 sets in total).  Here's what we did:

  • Pistol squats
  • Hamstring curls
  • Supported racked-kettlebell squats
  • Hamstring bicycles
  • Foot-up lunges
  • Single-leg burpees

This was a great workout and had a very different feel from our recent leg workouts.  The suspension training aspect really challenges your core and stabilizing muscles.  Balance is also a challenge on many of the exercises.  The other advantage that we found was in using the Jungle Gym XT to support us and allow for greater range of motion (i.e. going lower) for pistol squats and racked kettlebell squats.  Now, we are looking forward to trying out some upper body exercises!
