Tutorial: How to do a squat

Hey everyone,

If you're looking for a foundational exercise that works a significant amount of muscle and delivers great fitness results, look no further than the squat.  Squats are a classic exercise - in fact, they are a fundamental movement pattern for humans.

As with most exercises, there are many variations of squats to suit your capacity and your fitness goals.  You can perform bodyweight squats, use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and even perform plyometric versions such as jump squats.

Squats are a lower body exercise that will work almost every muscle group below the waist (primarily your quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings).  They should be a fixture of almost any training routine, since they offer huge benefits to beginners and advanced athletes alike.  Give them a try!
