Tutorial: How to do a pushup

Hey everyone,

The pushup is a classic bodyweight exercise.  You can do them anywhere!  This is an upper body exercise, which primarily focuses on your pectoral (chest), deltoid (shoulder), and tricep muscles.  They also work your core, as you maintain your body in a straight-line position.

Many people have seen pushups before, perhaps in movies featuring military basic training, or perhaps in high school gym class.  This is a very versatile exercise that requires no equipment and can be modified to make it easier or harder, hence its popularity!

Here is a brief Couplefit video tutorial on how to do a pushup:

As a reminder, there are many ways to vary this exercise to increase or decrease how challenging it is.  Modifying the number of repetitions (reps) and/or the pace will also alter the challenge.

This is an easy exercise that you can add to your daily routine and/or incorporate into your workouts.  Give it a try!
