Tutorial - Bodyweight Core Exercises

Hey everyone,

Today we are featuring a tutorial on bodyweight core exercises.  There are many different exercises which work your core - this Couplefit video tutorial will feature 2 which you can easily incorporate into your fitness routine. 

When you hear the term 'core' in fitness, it is typically referring to your entire midsection, including your abs and lower back. Having core strength and stability is important for everyday life, health and fitness.

The 2 exercises featured in the video tutorial are planks and mountain climbers.  There are many different variations of planks, which will help you as you progress in your fitness.  One of the easiest ways to measure your progress is by using a watch or timer to see how long you are holding this position with good form (i.e. straight body; no sagging).  You should be able to increase the length of time that you can hold a plank as you practice this exercise over the upcoming months.


Give these core exercises a try.  They are a great addition to your fitness routine and are also easy to fit into your everyday life if you only have a few minutes to devote to exercise that day.
