There was some decent weather over the weekend, so we took advantage of it. One of our workouts was a nice 8km jog. We are not huge proponents of steady-state cardio (compared to more effective and efficient intervals, such as sprints), but sometimes it's nice to go for a leisurely run and savour the fresh air and sunshine.
We also did an awesome upper body workout, including some outdoor lifting. Since we have more time on the weekends, we try to pick longer workouts (compared to shorter early morning workouts, or even those before-dinner workouts). Here's what we did:
- Pullups
- Tannys: 2 sets bodyweight and parallel grip, 2 sets wide grip with band assist, 2 sets parallel grip with band assist
- Alex: 2 sets 40kg and parallel grip, 2 sets 24kg and wide grip, and 2 bodyweight sets using a towel grip (see video below)
- Incline bench press
- Tannys - 95lbs
- Alex - 225, 245, 275lbs
- Reverse pushups
- Tannys - bodyweight
- Alex - +45lbs
- Dips

We saw the weekend as a great opportunity - a chance to get in some good workouts, improve our fitness, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors and good weather. We hope that you're also on the lookout for these kinds of opportunities in your life. Seemingly small, innocuous opportunities like these can have a huge positive impact - for both your health and your outlook on life!
