The holiday season heralds celebrations with friends and family, which translates into many temptations (and deviations from our usual fitness and healthy eating routine). While it is a great idea to try to limit your food and alcohol intake over the holidays, keeping up with your workouts can also help offset some of that dreaded holiday weight gain...
A ladder workout is an efficient, yet challenging workout. You can easily tailor it to the amount of time your have, by choosing more or fewer exercises. We have put together a lower body ladder workout that includes 3 different exercises (one exercise is performed on both the right and left side). Start with 10 reps of each exercise (complete each exercise consecutively), followed by 9 reps, 8 reps and so on, until you reach 1 rep. At that point, you have completed the ladder!
The four exercises we completed were:
- Kettlebell swings
- Kettlebell goblet squats
- Kettlebell single-leg deadlifts (right leg)
- Kettlebell single-leg deadlifts (left leg)
Completing the exercises with minimal rest gives you a great fat-blasting workout - give it a try and let us know what you think. Happy holidays!
