If you are doing a morning workout, the countdown format is a good option. It is an efficient (but challenging) way to get a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. We completed another great upper body morning workout using this format. This workout included four different exercises (two of the exercises used both right and left sides).
Here is what we did (taking a brief rest period after the Part I triplets before starting Part II):
Part I
- Pullups
- One-arm, standing kettlebell press - right arm
- One-arm, standing kettlebell press - left arm
Part II
- Jungle Gym reverse pushups
- Kettlebell floor press - right arm
- Kettlebell floor press - left arm
Again, we planned the workout to accommodate two people exercising in the same space, sharing equipment (i.e. one person would start with pullups in Part I, while the other would do the standing kettlebell press, before switching). This workout was terrific (and very demanding, depending on what weights you choose). Give it a try and let us know what you think!
