For our third Caribbean Workout, we decided to change things up a bit and try a Tabata Workout. Tabata is a very efficient, yet challenging way to workout. After this quick workout, we headed back out into the sun...
As a reminder, a Tabata set is 4 minutes, which we suggest be followed by 2 minutes of rest (before moving onto the next exercise). During the four minutes, you do 20 seconds of exercise as intensely as possible and then take 10 seconds of rest - do this for 8 cycles in total.
Listed below are the full-body exercises we completed. We used dumbbells and the cable machine available in our resort's gym.
- Deadlifts
- Lat Pulldowns
- Step-back Lunges
- Cable Flys
- Goblet squats
This was another fun, yet efficient travel workout. Next time you're travelling, give this Tabata workout a try, or modify this to create your own Tabata workout based on the available equipment.
