You will go through periods where you don't really feel like working out. Some days are tougher than others, but if you can motivate yourself to do some exercise, you won't regret it. We had one of those days recently, where we were struggling to find the motivation to workout after a long day at work.
Sometimes the biggest hurdle is getting started. If that's the case, pick a simple, efficient workout and force yourself to at least start it - once you're partway through you will find more energy and motivation to finish - and you'll feel great that you did!
We chose to do a superset lower body workout (i.e. where you pair exercises without resting in between, to be more efficient). To keep it simple, we chose two exercises, the kettlebell swing and the kettlebell goblet squat. These are excellent compound movements that will target almost all your lower body muscles (plus your core and some upper body muscles).
We chose a weight that would allow us to do 25 reps for each exercise. Then, we did the first superset (25 reps of kettlebell swings, immediately followed by 25 reps of kettlebell goblet squats). We took a short rest period, then repeated the superset, doing 5 complete cycles in total. This workout was fast, but challenging (you do 250 reps in total). We have a brief demonstration video so that you can see how it works:
At the start, we didn't feel like working out - that's why we had to dig deep for the motivation and selected a quick/efficient workout. At the end, we felt great and were happy that we had done it. When you're short on time and energy, but you still want to keep fit, give this superset workout a try. You can also easily adapt this format with different exercises, reps, weights, etc. Let us know what you think!
