To change things up a bit for this workout, we decided to return to an old-favourite workout style: Tabata! For those who are unfamiliar with this workout style, it was originally developed for training Japanese Olympic athletes. Each exercise is completed for 8 blocks of 20 seconds all-out activity, followed by 10 seconds of rest. We chose to complete six different lower body bodyweight exercises, to be completed in 34 minutes. Here is what we did:
- Jungle Gym pistol squats
- Hip thrusts
- Jungle Gym foot-up lunges
- Explosive planks
- Jungle Gym bicycles
- Burpees
This was an amazing conditioning workout, given the high intensity bursts of activity. We were absolutely exhausted by the end. Give this workout a try and let us know how it goes for you!
