Basic Workouts: Lower Body Kettlebell Circuit

Hey everyone,

We received a request to put together and share a basic kettlebell workout.  Some of our readers have found certain exercises we perform too challenging, while others have been limited by the equipment available.  Many of you have access to a single kettlebell (while others can access a dumbbell, which is a good substitute for these exercises).  Thus, we have composed this workout using basic kettlebell exercises - minimal equipment and experience required.

This workout is designed circuit-style and consists of 6 different lower body exercises.  The only equipment required is one kettlebell.  We recommend a short rest period after you complete a circuit.  Then, if time and energy permits, repeat the circuit several times - a good goal is to complete three circuits in your workout.

Here is the workout:
  1. Kettlebell swings
  2. Alternating kettlebell deadlifts
  3. Kettlebell goblet squats
  4. Hip bridges
  5. Step-back lunges (holding kettlebell goblet-style)
  6. Planks

Most of these exercises have been demonstrated in previous posts, but let us know if you want us to review them again.  Have fun with this workout and let us know how it goes!
